Thursday, September 28, 2006, is Compost Day at Nipissing University and Canadore College.

In the main cafeteria, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. members of the Compost Day Action Group will be asking for your organic food waste.

This group aims

- to collect at least 100 lbs. of organic waste
- to quantify discarded food waste from food waste generating areas
- to gain insight on social and environmental needs for a school composting program.

Waste not, want not. Contribute you scraps to the compost salad. Throw in scrap pizza crust; banana & orange peels; bread, bagel and muffin crumbs; vegetable and fruit leftovers.

Please NO BONES, and NO MEAT. With this compost we will feed the worms and the micro-organisms that live with us on this earth!
