Want to lift the spirits of children with cancer?

Camp Quality Northern Ontario is a volunteer run camp, a non-profit organization that allows children who have experienced cancer to enjoy a fun-filled week at summer camp.

The stay is free of charge to both them and their parents, allowing them to be kids again and enjoy fun-filled activities such as being able to fly in an airplane, motorcycle rides, water sports and crafts of all kinds. In just six days at camp, children are given the opportunity to make new friends who can share in what they’ve been through and create life experiences they will never forget.

Once again this summer, the organization is looking for volunteers. The only requirement is that those giving their week must be 18 years of age or older and have a police clearance.

Volunteer jobs can include:
Kitchen
Companion ***
Support Companion
Crafts
Programming
Lifeguards
Medical (nurses and doctors)

*** a companion is a volunteer who is someone that can become a special friend to that camper who is between the ages of 4 to 18, creating a special bond between both volunteer and child, one that hopefully will last throughout the year.

Camp week this year is July 10th to the 16th. This year we are expecting one of our largest camps ever and are putting out the call for extra volunteers.
