North Bay's Emily Jeanneault, 19, is in the running for the title of Miss Teen Canada World.

A determining factor in winning the crown this year will come from the contestants support from the general public and the Nipissing University student hopes the community will rally behind her bid like they did for Dreamcoat Fanatsy Theatre and Hockeyville.

This is an update Emily sent to the folk at NipU on Tuesday:

"Hello this is Emily Jeanneault,

Just a update so far this week it has been amazing and the girls are lovely.

I just found out that out of the 75 girls five other girls and myself have the chance to win most photogenic.

In her bio Jeanneault writes that her goals are to inspire the youth across Canada.

"My name is Emily Jeanneault, I grew up in North Bay Ontario. I currently am a student at Nipissing University. While attending my first year of University I faced many challenges throughout the year. However through all my trials and tribulations of my first year I have grown immensely, it gave me the chance to see where I could better myself and in the end it made me a stronger, more driven, and confident person. With all these attributes I attained through school, they gave me the drive and courage to enter my first pageant, Miss Ontario North Regional Canada Pageant. Through this, I was invited to attend Miss Teen Canada World, and have the immense opportunity to represent not only my hometown North Bay, but Ontario as well. I am so grateful to have this opportunity because with it comes the chance to make a difference in peoples lives."
