Vehicle stop leads to drug charges

Mattawa – On Wednesday, August 27th, 2008, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Mattawa OPP officer charged two males with drug related offences. The officer was conducting general patrol in the town of Mattawa, Ontario, when he stopped a vehicle as a result of Highway Traffic Act offence on John Street. Further investigation resulted in over 13 lbs of marijuana with an estimated street value of over $100,000.

Brent G. BUNYAK, 22 years old, of St-Charles, Ontario and Matthew R. LIPARTITI, 25 years old, of Sudbury, Ontario were charged each with one count of
 Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - over 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, s.4(1);
 Trafficking Schedule II - Cannabis Marihuana over 3 kilograms contrary to the CDSA, s. 5(1)(i).

BUNYAK and LIPARTITI are both scheduled to appear in Mattawa for court on November 12th, 2008.
