Vehicle contained knives, digital scales, methamphetamine and cocaine

 Two people were arrested and charged after OPP conducted an early morning traffic stop in Sturgeon Falls and found drugs and knives.

Shortly before 2 this morning Nipissing West OPP were on general patrol, and conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Front Street. 

The driver was found to be suspended and was arrested. A search of the vehicle found knives, digital scales, methamphetamine and cocaine.

Keith Bazinet, 45, from the Noelville, is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Have care or control of a vehicle with cannabis in open baggage

Bazinet was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice today in North Bay.

The passenger, Samantha Labelle, 36, from Sudbury, was also arrested and charged with, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 2 in North Bay.
