Some Callander residents are frustrated with a recent wave of vandalism that hit the community last weekend.

Residents told BayToday that about seven vehicles in the town had their windows smashed out causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Callander witnesses believe it’s the work of teenagers who have also been seen throwing snowballs at moving cars and rolling logs on area roads.

"This was allegedly done by a local group of teenage hoodlums who are notorious for disrupting the neighbourood. The police have been called, and are slowly "working on it", said one victim.

"I find it funny that if a whole community has some severe vandalism done (rear windows smashed out of $45,000 vehicles) it should be known and made public."

The North Bay Police Service is investigating the incidents which occurred between March 31st and April 1st.   The police say the incidents occurred on Main Street, Landsdowne Street, Pleasantview Place, Woodlands Drive and King Street.

Anyone with information who has not yet provided a statement to police is asked to contact the investigating officer, Constable Steven Brown by calling the North Bay Police Station at 705-497-5555.

For those with information who wish to remain anonymous, please contact Near North Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or submit a tip online at http://nearnorthcrimestoppers.com/contact-us/submit-a-tip
