VALUABLE ‘INUIT’ ARTWORK STOLEN COMMANDA LAKE BREAK-IN
Police Continue Their Investigation

(Powassan , Ontario)
Powassan OPP continue their investigation to a cottage break-in at 647 Commanda Lake Road, Pringle Township, Restoule, Ontario.

OPP Powassan were dispatched to the break-in on Thursday April 1, and now believe that this occurred sometime between mid-October 2003 and late December 2003. Culprits broke into the seasonal residence and stole a collection of Inuit artwork.

The collection included two valuable pieces: One displayed as an “Inuit with Harpoon and Leather Tether” soapstone carving, worth $7,500 and a ”Walrus Tusk”, worth $2,000.

The estimated value of the artwork stolen is over $10,000.
Police are continuing their investigation.
