UPDATED: Winter storm warning!

Hazardous winter conditions are expected. as 20 to 35 cm of snow is likely beginning tonight.

That winter storm watch has been changed to a Winter storm warning:

  • North Bay - West Nipissing
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity, 
  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,
  • Huntsville - Baysville,

Hazardous winter conditions are expected. as 20 to 35 cm of snow is likely beginning tonight.

A Texas low is expected to track towards the Great Lakes area today and move across the lakes on Tuesday. Ahead of this system strengthening easterly winds and then ultimately snow and blowing snow will begin Monday evening continue into Tuesday and then finally taper off Tuesday afternoon.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Current details: 
Snow and local blowing snow are expected to begin tonight and taper off during the day on Tuesday. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are likely. Motorists are advised to exercise caution especially tonight and Tuesday. For areas farther south including Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie, North Bay and Manitoulin Island, even more significant snow and blowing snow are expected. A winter storm warning has therefore been issued for those areas.
