A multi-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon caused severe traffic delays on the bypass just south of the Seymour intersection.

OPP have updated the information. Constable Carolyn Ward tells BayToday that traffic at the scene had slowed to a stop and cars were braking hard to avoid collisions.

"It was a chain reaction accident," she said.

Ward confirmed that no cellphone use was involved. The driver who rear-ended the van was charged with "fail to turn to avoid a collision".

The driver of one of the vehicles, Liz Levesque of North Bay, says she was southbound when her Toyota Sienna was rear ended by a Dodge Dakota pushing her into the back of a Dodge Ram pickup. Her two children were in the van, and luckily were uninjured.

Levesque was checked out by paramedics on scene and says while she hit her head hard,  she appears to have suffered no other injuries. The two other drivers did not exhibit any injuries on scene.

"I really want to thank the paramedics, police and firefighters," she told BayToday. "They were all amazing and great with my kids and very supportive."

The highway was closed to one lane for about an hour while the highway was cleaned of anti-freeze and glass.
