Union Gas employees pitched in with North Bay Blooms Wednesday evening to pick up three truck loads of garbage that had been dumped along the access points to the escarpment trails.

Truck tires, a shopping cart, broken furniture abandoned mattresses, assorted broken appliances and litter had all been cast along the roadsides by persons who find it easier to simply dump their garbage rather than take to to the municipal landfill.

Fines can be levied from $50 to $5,000 for illegal dumping but the challenge has always been to catch or identify the culprits.

If you notice anyone dumping or littering please contact City of North Bay bylaw enforcement staff to take appropriate action. If you or your group would like to help with a clean up night please contact North Bay Blooms at www.northbayblooms.com
