Two suspects arrested after police pursuit

On Tuesday, June 17th, 2008, North Bay OPP officers became involved in a vehicle pursuit when the driver failed to stop for police. Information previously revealed to the officers was that this vehicle was being sought in relation to an investigation initiated by the Halton Regional Police Service earlier in the day.

At approximately 3:00 pm, the vehicle in question was observed coming from the Quebec border onto Highway 63 in the area of Thorne, Ontario. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for police and subsequently attempted to flee police. Officers deployed spike belts to assist with the vehicle apprehension. The pursuit was terminated when the driver of the suspect vehicle lost control of his vehicle and rolled over.

Two males subjects were arrested at the scene and transported by ambulance to the North Bay General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and further information will be provided as it becomes available.
