Powassan OPP are investigating a single motor vehicle collision that happened on Highway 11, South Himsworth Township yesterday at approximately 9:48 p.m..
The vehicle, a 2003 Toyota, was southbound on Highway 11 when the driver lost control in the heavy rain. The car left the roadway, striking a light standard.
Powassan Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to extricate two people from the car.
The driver is suffering life threatening injuries and the passenger sustained serious injuries.
Both parties were rushed to hospital by ambulance.
Northeast Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were sent to help Powassan OPP in this extensive investigation.
The Callander Fire Department also responded.
