Two people taken to hospital following MVC 10kms north of Burk's Falls

On Friday 06 May, 2011 Almaguin Highlands OPP officers, along with Sundridge/Strong/Joly fire department and Parry Sound Ambulance responded to a serious single motor vehicle collision on Hwy #11 approximately 1 kilometre north of North Horn Lake Road, Strong Twp.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:45am when the south bound Ford passenger car left the highway and hit boulders in the west ditch. The car struck the rocks and caught fire. The occupants of the vehicle, Beau DIVAL (18) of Arnstein, ON and Korina TRUDEL (20) of Port Loring, ON were out of the vehicle prior to it catching fire.

Both occupants were transported to the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate with the assistance of the North East Region, Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Investigator.

Almaguin Highlands OPP advise that as of 7:35am the Hwy is completely open

Almaguin Highlands OPP advise motorists that 6:45am Hwy 11 - approx 10kms north of Burk's Falls is reduced to one lane alternating due to a serious motor vehicle collision.

A detour is not required as traffic moving well. the estimated duration of road advisory will be a couple of hours.
