Two North Bay men face a number of charges including robbery

On June 22, at approximately 7:00 pm, in 1000-block of Clarence Street, in North Bay, two males, disguised with balaclavas, sunglasses & baseball caps, entered an occupied apartment, armed with an axe, by forcing a second story door off of the fire-escape. It is alleged they threatened the two occupants with the axe, while robbing them of, cell phones and a floor safe. The victims were threatened with death prior to departure of the suspects.

Police responding to a report of a Break & Enter in progress at the residence observed a male at approximately 7:46pm fleeing on Clarence towards Jane Street. This male was arrested at 7:48pm by Cst. Mark Mcleod.

On June 23, at 02:45, a second male suspect was arrested at a residence on the 500 Block of McNamara Street by Cst. McLeod and Robertson.

Christopher Bennett, age 30 of Main Street E, and Chad Deforge, age 22 of North Bay are charged with:
Break and Enter with Intent, Disguise with Intent, Robbery, Uttering Threats.

Chad Deforge is also charged with Breach of Probation.
