A pair of former North Bay AAA Trappers will be reunited for the 15th annual CJHL Top Prospects Game that will take place in mid-January.

Cole Craft, fresh off his silver medal with Team Canada East, will be joined by defenceman Ben Brunette for the showcase event and play for Team East.

Brunette, who plays for the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL, has three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 36 games this season. Craft, who is a forward with the Rockland Nationals of the CCHL, has 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 32 games this season.

"I am very excited to be selected to play in the CJHL prospects game. I've been fortunate to play on a great team here in the CCHL and have learned a lot from my coaches, Jason Clarke and his staff," Brunette told BayToday.

"I'm looking forward to playing with some great players and to use this experience to help me be the best player I can be."

The event is held by the Canadian Junior Hockey League in partnership with the NHL, Hockey Canada and NHL Central Scouting.

The game will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at 7 p.m. at the Dave Andreychuk Arena in Hamilton, Ont.

Each of the players chosen to participate in the CJHL Prospects Game were selected through the efforts of NHL Central Scouting and are currently among the top 40 CJHL prospects heading into the 2020 NHL Draft, June 26-27, in Montreal.
