Two Fatalities in Separate Transport Accidents

Wawa Radio is reporting that one person is dead following a single vehicle tractor-trailer accident on Highway 17 at the Dubreuilville turnoff.

The radio station says that around 3 a.m. today, the rig left the roadway, struck a rock cut and caught fire.

A male driver was ejected and died of his injuries.

His identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified.

Highway 17 North was closed for several hours after the crash this morning.

At 6:16 a.m., OPP advised SooToday.com that one lane of the highway had re-opened.

At 6:26 a.m., OPP also reported that one lane of Highway 17 had re-opened at the scene of a fatal transport crash at Spanish.
