Two face serious gun and drug charges. Chief holding news conference

Two arrests were made by members of the NBPS Street Crime Unit

This doesn't happen often, so it underlines the seriousness of the crime.

Police Chief Shawn Devine will be holding a news conference at 2 p.m. today to discuss the arrest of two British Columbia people.

In a news release, Devine says on the 31st of October, two arrests were made by members of the NBPS Street Crime Unit along with members of the NBPS Emergency Response Team. Further assistance during this investigation was provided by the OPP. A search warrant was conducted at a residence in Powassan as well as the search of two vehicles.

The following people have been charged with these and other offences:

Jeremy Sauve, 32, of British Colombia

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm with the serial number removed
  • Possess firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Fentanyl Posses
  • sion for the purpose of trafficking in Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Heroin

Patricia Vaughan, 43, of British Columbia

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm with the serial number removed
  • Possess firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Fentanyl Posses
  • sion for the purpose of trafficking in Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Heroin

Both subjects are being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
