Police have charged a pair of North Bay men following an early morning robbery Saturday, April 29th.

Police say at approximately 3:30 a.m., three men entered an apartment on Fourth Avenue East, uninvited, and assaulted two men inside.

They then demanded that everyone inside the apartment empty their pockets. After stealing the victims’ personal items, they fled the scene.

The two victims were taken to the North Bay Regional Health Centre to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Yesterday, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Shaquille Neil Sutherland, age 23, of North Bay, with:

  • one count of break, enter & commit robbery;
  • one count of forcible confinement;
  • one count of mischief under $5,000; and
  • two counts of breach of probation.

James Arsenault Jackson, age 23, of North Bay, with:

  • one count of break, enter & commit robbery;
  • one count of forcible confinement;
  • one count of possession of marijuana; and
  • two counts of breach of probation.

Police arrested Sutherland yesterday. On the way to police headquarters, he kicked the window of the cruiser repeatedly, causing damage.

Jackson was arrested without incident yesterday. A search of him revealed that he was in possession of a small quantity of marijuana, which police seized as evidence.

Both accused were held in custody for bail hearings.

Police are still searching for a third suspect.
