Tune into the telethon today

After weeks of planning and rehersal the Lions CTV Children's Christmas Telethon is set to kick off today at 2pm. The show will broadcast live from Nipissing University Theatre and the Canadore Education Centre TV Studio until 11:00pm tonight.

Lions Club member Carol Verge says folks can get in the Christmas Spirit by giving and by watching the live talent contest on CTV (channel 9) or Bell TV (Channel 277)

The annual event which raises funds to provide holiday fare (turkeys, hams and toys) for rural families in need, has a goal of $50,000 this year.

"Vote for your favorite ... make a pledge ... Make a difference in a child’s life."
