Original story:

A truck took out a lamp post near the busy intersection of Highway 11 and Algonquin Avenue around 11 this morning.

Witnesses indicated to BayToday.ca that the truck came across the highway from the westbound lane and crashed into a light pole, off on the other shoulder of the eastbound lane behind Casey's.

The pole was knocked right off its foundation and laid flat on the ground.

"I heard tires squealing, so I turned around to see a little ford truck swerve right into oncoming traffic and struck a light post," said witness Brian Kelly.

"The light post was struck so hard it flew about 10 feet from the anchor point."

No word on any injuries to the driver or any occupants.

BayToday.ca will attempt to update this story.
