Truck crashes through guardrails

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.

One person is believed injured as a tanker-truck smashed through the guardrails at the intersection of Highway 11 south and 17 east around 11:30 a.m. today.

Firefighters removed the driver.

Reporter Chris Dawson says witnesses said the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance with blood on his face, but he was conscious at the time. OPP say he has non life-threatening injuries.

The truck appears empty.

Witnesses say the truck lost control in the corner at the turnoff from 17 to 11 heading towards Toronto.

Police say the roadway could be closed for up to four days while the tanker truck is recovered.
