Members of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a traffic hazard on Highway (HWY) 11 North at Bomarc Road around 11 p.m. last night.
The driver of the tractor trailer had attempted to complete a u-turn and instead the vehicle ended up stuck across HWY 11. No traffic was able to pass in either direction.
As a result the driver, Ahmad JAVED of Mississauga, was charged with Turn Not in Safety contrary to section 142(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). He was issued a Provincial Offence Notice (PON).
The HWY was closed for approximately 1.5 hours and reopened at 12:15 a.m.
