Area residents will get a chance to meet with TransCanada representatives at an open house from 4-8 p.m. at the East Ferris Community Centre, in Astorville this evening.
It's being billed as a "Safety and Emergency Response" open house event by the company.
TransCanada technical experts will be on hand to discuss pipeline construction, security, emergency measures and environmental protection.
Spokesman Stefan Baranski says there are a lot of myths about the pipeline including its age and being prone to leaking.
"That couldn't be further from the truth. The line that we're converting through North Bay was put in during the early ninties up until 2006 so it's our newest line through the area."
The meeting hall is at theCorbeil Park Hall, 1267 Village Road in Astorville.
