Trafficking marijuana charges laid against local man

A North Bay man faces trafficking charges after two people were arrested on Main street Tuesday. Police say at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Street Crime unit watched as a suspected drug trafficking act took place between two men at Main and John.

A North Bay man faces trafficking charges after two people were arrested on Main street Tuesday.

Police say at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Street Crime unit watched as a suspected drug trafficking act took place between two men at Main and John.

Both were arrested on the scene shortly.

Police charged Kenneth Luke Ross Stephens, age 53, of North Bay with:

  • One count of trafficking marijuana;
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and
  • One count of possession of marijuana under 30 grams.

Stephens was released from custody with a court date of August 28th.

The second person arrested, a 43-year old North Bay man, was charged with possession of marijuana and released from the scene on an appearance notice.

As a result of the search, North Bay Police seized a small amount of marijuana, a digital scale and $150 in Canadian currency.
