Papineau-Cameron Township - A Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting routine patrol when he stopped a motor vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 17 in Papineau-Cameron Twp on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at approximately 4:45 pm.

The traffic stop resulted in the officer locating over $45,000 of suspected marihuana. Tyler MARTELL, 21 years old, of Cornwall, Ontario is charged with:

- Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - over 30 g as per Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) s. 4(1);

- Possession for the Purpose Schedule II under 3 kg as per CDSA s. 5(2);

- Trafficking Schedule II - Cannabis Marihuana under 3 kg as per CDSA s. 5(1); and with

- Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 as per Criminal Code of Canada s. 354 (1) (a).

MARTELL is scheduled to appear for court in Mattawa on July 6, 2011.
