Top-25 wanted fugitive is in the wind and has ties to North Bay

KITCHENER–WATERLOO, Ont. — A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered by the Bolo Program, in cooperation with Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers, for information leading to the arrest of Habiton Solomon in connection to a Kitchener homicide.

Habiton Solomon, 21, has been named as one of Bolo’s Top 25 most wanted fugitives for his alleged role in the homicide of Joshua Tarnue, according to a Waterloo Regional Police Service news release. Investigators from the WRPS Major Crime Unit are continuing to seek Solomon on a Canada-wide warrant for second degree murder.

Solomon has connections to North Bay, Huntsville, Ottawa, Brantford, Hamilton, and Windsor. He is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, please do not approach him but call 9-1-1 immediately.

On Aug. 13, 2023, at approximately 10:20 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired outside a business in the area of Queen Street and Charles Street in downtown Kitchener. Upon arrival, police officers located an 18-year-old male with injuries sustained from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Waterloo Regional Police Service investigators previously arrested and charged two individuals, a 25-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, both from Hamilton, with manslaughter in connection to this homicide.

As part of the ongoing efforts to arrest Habiton Solomon, a reward of up to $50,000, available until Dec. 3, 2024, is being offered by the Bolo Program, in cooperation with Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers, for information leading to Mr. Solomon’s arrest.
