Timmins planning another blockbuster summer festival

Hot on the heels of this summer's festival success, Timmins has already announced the acts it has signed for next year.

Last year saw a spectacular lineup of Canadian and international music stars including Keith Urban, Johnny Reid, Hedley, Simple Plan, Tom Cochrane with Red Rider, April Wine, Cold Creek County, David Wilcox, and others.

This year's Stars and Thunder festival  will feature Bryan Adams, supported by acts like 54-40, The Beach Boys, Gord Bamford and Burton Cummings.

Here's the full lineup for the second edition of the festival:

Sunday, June 24

Eric Lapointe, Roch Voisine, LGS, and Celeste Levis. The fireworks display will be by Fireworks do Brasil, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Monday, June 25

Colin James, Blue Rodeo, and Midnight Shine.

Tuesday, June 26

Marianas Trench, Virginia to Vegas, and Julian Taylor Band. The fireworks display will be by Oy Pyroman, Espoo, Finland.

Wednesday, June 27

Burton Cummings & Band, and Sloan.

Thursday, June 28

Gord Bamford, Lindsay Ell, Aaron Goodvin, and Chris Buck Band. The fireworks will be from China Glorious Celebration Fireworks, Liuyang, China.

Friday, June 29

Paul Brandt, High Valley, and Nice Horse.

Saturday, June 30

The Beach Boys, Arkells, Alan Doyle, and 54-40.

Sunday, July 1

Bryan Adams, Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good, and Sons of Maxwell. The fireworks will be by Team Canada: David Whysall International Fireworks Inc.

Timmins residents will have the first chance to buy tickets Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. They can be purchased online at starsandthunder.com or in person at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. After Nov. 16, tickets can be bought at City Hall. 

Timmins Mayor Steve Black said people buying tickets the first two days (Nov. 16 and 17)  will be entered into a draw to win one of 10 meet and greets at the festival. 

The early-bird pricing for tickets is in effect until April 30. An eight-day VIP pass is $450, and a general admission eight-day pass is $275. Single day general admission passes for days one to six are $80, day seven is $125, and day eight is $150. 

Depending on availability, single-day VIP passes will be released April 30.
