Three Ottawa men arrested for extortion

At 5:30pm on the 02 Feb a 23 yr old man (victim) was confronted on Main St E by 3 men.

One of the three was known to the man because it was alleged that the victim owed him some money. One of the other men was wearing brass knuckles. Money was demanded, and taken from him. They demanded he turn over his vehicle and he was forced to write out a receipt for the vehicle.

He was told that he was to sell Fentanyl patches for them and was taken to a residence where he was let out but they kept his vehicle.

An investigation by police located the three suspects and the vehicle at a local hotel.

They were arrested at 12:40pm on the 3rd Feb and quantities of money and Fentanyl seized.

Zeyad Metwali 21yrs of Ottawa has been charged with extortion, possession of a weapon dangerous, forcible confinement, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and 3 counts of breach of recognizance.

Zeyad Hasan 20yrs of Ottawa has been charged with extortion, possession of a weapon dangerous, forcible confinement, and 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Ali Mohamed 20yrs of Ottawa has been charged with extortion, possession of a weapon dangerous, forcible confinement, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
All three men have been held in custody for bail hearings.
