An argument between a landlord and tenant at a social gathering this morning resulted in police being called and three men facing charges.
At 11:30 a.m. on January 7 North Bay Police responded to the call at a Beverley Street address, near Ski Club Road.
"In dealing with a landlord-tenant act situation the officer identified three individuals that are alleged to be in violation of the requirement of the regulations of the Reopening Ontario Act," said police spokesman John Schultz. "All three adult males were issued Provincial Offence Notices for participating in a social gathering during the pandemic lockdown. Each Offence Notice carries with it a financial penalty totaling $880."
Police Chief Scott Tod says since the beginning of the pandemic, police have opted for an educational approach in dealing with COVID guidelines.
That appears to have changed.
"We are now in a provincial pandemic lockdown and although we ask for your continued support in following these regulations, this incident is a reminder that our officers can and will enforce the laws to keep our community safe."
