This year, The Salvation Army’s Christmas Program will serve over a 700 families in the North Bay area with Christmas hampers.

With just three days to go, "We are far off of our goal this year and have seen a massive increase in demand, both with the hampers and food services," says

John Dobbs, Director Program Services with the Salvation Army, North Bay.

"The sights and sounds of Christmas would not be complete without the iconic Salvation Army Christmas Kettles and the sound of “silver bells” ringing around our city.  However, with three days to go, this year’s campaign is in danger of not achieving its target of $130,000."

As of this yesterday, the Kettle Campaign had realized a total of $93,000....well short of its target.

This year, The Salvation Army’s Christmas Program will serve over a 700 families in the North Bay area with Christmas hampers.

Residents of North Bay can support The Salvation Army’s Christmas Program by donating at any of the kettles throughout North Bay, including LCBO, Walmart, FreshCO, Parkers Independent, Sobeys, Metro, No Frills, and Canadian Tire.

Donations can also be sent by mail to:The Salvation Army, 134 McIntyre St E., North Bay, ON  P1B 8G8

Throughout the year, they also provide emergency food services, household supports, emergency respite and personal assistance.  They also send dozens of North Bay children to summer camp. In addition, The Salvation Army serves over 3,600 meals and is a lifeline for hundreds in North Bay’s inner city.
