Three charged with marijuana offences

The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit arrested, searched and charged three people after a traffic stop that occurred at McLeod and Cedar Streets at 4 p.m. yesterday.

The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit arrested, searched and charged three people after a traffic stop that occurred at McLeod and Cedar Streets at 4 p.m. yesterday.

Wayne Thomas Kenneth Dawson, age 32, of Nipissing, was charged with:

  • One count of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking;
  • One count of possession of possession of property obtained by crime;
  • One count of possession of a prohibited weapon;
  • One count of trafficking marijuana;
  • One count of breach of weapons prohibition order.

A 37-year old North Bay man was charged with:

  • One count of possession of marijuana.

An 18-year old North Bay woman was charged with:

  • One count of possession of marijuana.

As a result of the search, North Bay Police seized approximately 100 grams of marijuana with a street value estimated at $1,000, $645 in Canadian currency, $60 in American currency, brass knuckles, drug accessories and electronics.

All three accused were released from custody with court dates scheduled for Tuesday 21 July.

When it comes to charges laid for drug-related crimes, it is the policy of the North Bay Police Service to only release the names of those accused of drug trafficking.
