Three car pileup on Algonquin

Witnesses say no one was seriously injured although emergency personnel were on the scene of the accident which occurred around 1 p.m.

Traffic on Algonquin avenue was delayed this afternoon due to a three-car pileup on the busy intersection of Algonquin and Lansdowne.

Witnesses say no one was seriously injured although emergency personnel were on the scene of the accident which occurred around 1 p.m.

Witnesses indicate one car stopped and then two vehicles rear-ended each other creating the three-car pileup.

The roadway has been in the news recently as citizens call for changes to make it more safe for motorists and pedestrians. Last year a pair of senior citizens were killed after trying to cross the busy thoroughfare.

No word if any charges are pending as police continue to investigate.
