Due to the ongoing labour dispute between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) will not be mailing out any social assistance cheques while there is a risk of disruption of service.

As of today, all social assistance recipients receiving payment by mail will be required to go to their local Ontario Works office to pick up their cheque in person and must show photo I.D. If necessary, social assistance recipients are advised to use the August drug cards or their Ontario Health cards.  Cheques are available for pick-up now.

Individuals who have previously received their cheques by mail are strongly encouraged to sign up for Direct Bank Deposit so that funds are put directly in their bank account, avoiding any delays. Individuals who are unable to open a bank account and sign up for direct deposit are encouraged to speak with their Case Managers immediately.

Go the DNSSAB website at www.dnssab.on.ca for more details and updates.

Vendor and landlord cheques will be sent out via regular mail. Any vendor or landlord who has not received an expected payment is directed to contact their local Ontario Works office.
