Thieves didn't take the long weekend off

Most of us had the long weekend to relax, but it was business as usual for the city's crooks.

City police report a number of break-ins.

Sometime during the overnight hours of Saturday and Sunday, someone entered Vic's Shoe Repair, at 107 Shireff Ave. after smashing the front door to gain entry. 

A small amount of cash was taken.  

Then, at approximately 5 p.m. on Sunday, someone used a rock to smash a window and gain entry to the North Bay Foot and Ankle Clinic located at 250 Trout Lake Road. 

The office was ransacked, although nothing was reported missing.  Damage is estimated at $5,000.

Also on Sunday, thieves used a rock to smash the main doors of the Seymour Animal Hospital, located at 1875 Seymour St and gained entry.  A small amount of cash was taken.  

Sometime between Sunday and Monday someone smashed a glass door to gain entry to Bavarian Meats, located at 699 Wallace Rd.  The office was ransacked and a laptop was taken.  

Early this morning, thieves smashed a window and gained entry to Alex Killop Tax Services, located at 40 Champlain St. A small amount of cash was taken. 

Damage is estimated at $800.
