Here's an unusual report from OPP in Blind River.

On January 5 around 5 p.m., East Algoma OPP officers responded to a break and enter in progress at an apartment building in Blind River.

When police arrived the suspect was gone but the investigation determined that while the owner was away, the suspect broke into the apartment, changed the locks, and took up residency.

When the owner returned and gained access to the unit, the landlord realized some new items were now in the apartment and some items had been stolen.

On January 6 the Greater Sudbury Police Service told the OPP they arrested the suspect in the Blind River break-in and he was now in custody.

East Algoma OPP travelled to Sudbury and recovered the stolen property.

Kody Ethier, 32, from Blind River is charged with breaking and entering a place to commit an indictable offence.

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on February 1.
