They're going the extra mile

On Friday members of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce launched the annual ‘Go the Extra Mile’ program.

The Program aims to provide excellence in customer service at every business in the area for tourists and residents while recognizing business owners, employees and volunteers who represent what going that extra mile is all about.

Mayor Al McDonald pointed out that MoneySense Magazine has North Bay ranked in the 22nd in the best places to live in Canada and he says by continuing to offer excellent customer service only encourages visitors to return to the city and the city’s ranking to climb.

People encountering great customer service can nominate the individual by completing an entry form on the Chamber website, www.gotheextramile.ca. Entry forms with program information can also be found at designated sponsor locations throughout the city.

The extra mile committee will review submissions on a monthly basis, and an award recipient will be chosen based on criteria including: quality level of service, timeliness, money saving suggestions, positive attitude, team leadership and overall extraordinary performance.

John Strang President of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce encourages everyone to embrace the program and show residents and visitors what a friendly place North Bay really is.
