There were long lineups as the new Burger King on Pinewood Park Drive opened yesterday.
Vehicles snaked across the fast-food giant's parking lot and onto Pinewood Park Drive for the drive-thru. We counted at least 35 cars in the line at 5 p.m.
Customers reported wait times of between 30 and 45 minutes. The inside lineup extended outside.
Traffic was snarled as the road is reduced to a single lane at that point due to the reconstruction of Pinewood in anticipation of the new casino opening expected sometime next summer.

Site work started in October of 2019 at the restaurant located next to the new casino site and the PetroCanada station.
Burger King will share the parking lot with Subway and Tim Horton's franchises.
Burger King used to have a restaurant on Lakeshore Drive, now the site of a CUPE office, next to the current Pizza Hut, but closed more than 10 years ago.
