Friends of La Vase Portages Chair Fred McNutt is pleased to announce that they are set to host Canoe Day again this year on Saturday, July 16.

Paddlers will meet at Champlain Park, Premier Road, then be shuttled across to Trout Lake and spend the day paddling and portaging in guided groups back to Lake
Nipissing. Entry is $25 per person and includes shuttle and a fish fry lunch at Billy Bob's.

Part of the historic Voyageur waterway route across Canada, La Vase Portages has been recognized as a Canadian Heritage River System, but still faces challenges from
development along some of its last remaining pristine areas.
