The Americans are coming!

The California-based performing group 'The Young Americans' will be making a stop in North Bay at the end of the month to work with local students as part of their international music outreach program.

The group was founded in 1962 by Milton C. Anderson with the outreach program created in 1992. The outreach program is a comprehensive arts workshop that allows students to explore everything from vocal techniques, dance, and comedy improvisation, to stage movement, sound, lighting, and more.

Officials say the three-day workshop, which runs October 28 - 30 and has limited space, brings the joy of singing, dancing and performing to 4th-12th graders while learning to work together, respect each others strengths, and discover their own potential - all through music and dance.

Widdifield students Krista Shoen and Andrew Bell both participated in the program in 2004, when it was last stopped off in the Bay, say the program has had a significant impact on their lives and say it is a don't miss for any student.







Following the intense training the students demonstrate what they have learned in a spectacular show on October 30th which is open to the public.

Tickets for the Saturday, October 30th show in Widdifield S.S. gym at 7:00pm are available at the school 320 Ski Club Road, during school hours. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
