The movie ‘That Beautiful Somewhere,’ based on the novel 'Loon' written by North Bay's Bill Plumstead opens Friday, April 20 in Toronto and Montreal.

Filmed in North Bay and Temagami in November and December, 2005 is the first film supported by an investment from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation for general release.

The story revolves around a detective a weathered detective played by Roy Dupuis (The Rocket fame) and young female archaeologist who investigates the mysterious death of a 'bog body' found in a mythic native swamp rumoured to have curative powers, and how two wounded souls search for healing and redemption.

In Toronto, the film opens at the Empire Cinemas just north of Sheppard Avenue on Yonge Street. Check with the cinema for local show times.

Production of this film represents a significant milestone for the NOHFC in helping to ignite a new film and television sector in the North. Everyone is encouraged to spread the word and see That Beautiful Somewhere when they have an opportunity.
