A temporary assessment centre for Covid-19 is set up outside of the North Bay Regional Hospital this weekend.

Hospital spokeswoman Kimberley McElroy told BayToday, "This is a temporary assessment centre while the Health Unit works to secure a more permanent location. People using the centre  yesterday and today have received referrals from Telehealth or Public Health."

The Health Unit and hospital are working to secure a permanent location.

"If a community member suspects a COVID-19 exposure they are to call the Public Health Unit hotline number first at 1-800-563-2808 ext. 5229 and speak to a public health nurse. This nurse will determine whether an additional assessment is required," explained McElroy.

As of Sunday evening, there are no confirmed positive cases in this area.
