THEFT SOLAR LIGHTS

(Englehart, Ontario) Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the theft of Solar Lights taken from a residence in the Englehart between the 21 June and the 21 July 2007.

OPP officers were called to a residence on Third Avenue in the Town of Englehart on the 21 July 2007 at approximately 9:12 a.m. A total of 14 solar lights were taken from residence and they are described as a oriental style with a white light and the others are bubble lights with black stems and silver bases. The approximate value of the lights taken is $150.00

Provincial Constable Christine SHORTT is the investigating officer. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

BREAK-IN UNDER INVESTIGATION

(Temiskaming Shores, Ontario) The Temiskaming Detachment of the OPP is investigating the Break and Enter of a boat house on Lake Temiskaming in the former Town of Haieybury between the 16 and 17 July 2007.

The Ontario Provincial Police were contacted on the 18 July 2007 at approximately 12:37 p.m. Police investigation has revealed that an entry was made into the boathouse with a attempt to enter the boat through the boat’s cuddy door. There was no entry gained but minor damage was done to the cuddy door. The OPP would like to remind everyone to not leave valuables on board your boat no matter how secure you may make it.

IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A VEHICLE

(Temiskaming Shores, Ontario) A Haileybury man is facing drinking and driving charges after being checked by a member of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police on Main Street in the former Town of Haileybury on the 21 July 2007.

Sergeant Kevin MURPHY checked the stopped vehicle on Main Street at approximately 9:48 p.m.

Further investigation by the police has resulted in charges of Having Care and Control of a Vehicle while having consumed more than the legal amount of alcohol and Impaired Driving and Possession Controlled Substance (Cocaine). Ryan PETERS 25 of Haileybury will appear in Haileybury Court on the 28 September 2007.

MAN FACES DRINKING AND DRIVING CHARGES

(Temiskaming Shores, Ontario) A vehicle stop by members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police resulted in drinking and driving charges on the 22 July 2007.

Provincial Constable Pete TAYLOR stopped the vehicle at approximately 12:51 a.m. on Main Street in the former Town of Haileybury.

Further investigation by the police has resulted in charges of driving a vehicle while having consumed more than the legal amount of alcohol, Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle no License, Fail to Remain Scene Accident and Take Motor Vehicle without Consent. He will appear in Haileybury Court on the 19 October 2007.
