Temiskaming secondary school placed on lockdown after threats

Police were able to identify the caller and he was arrested at a residence

Shortly after noon today,  Temiskaming Shores OPP received a report of a threat made toward the safety of the people at Timiskaming District Secondary Schoo on Niven Street in Temiskaming Shores.

The school was placed on lockdown and the other schools in the area were alerted and put on "hold and secure" as a precaution.

Police were able to identify the caller and he was arrested at a residence.

Christian Nelson, 20, from Temiskaming Shores, is charged with "uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm."

Nelson is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Temiskaming Shores on July 4.
