Temagami OPP investigating fatal MVC

Members from the Temiskaming and Temagami OPP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Friday March 4th, 2011 on Highway 11 south of Temagami, in Olive Township. Marilyn Hearn, 57 yrs from Brantford Ontario was traveling north bound on Highway #11, operating a sport utility vehicle when the head-on collision occurred involving a south bound tractor trailer. Marilyn Hearn was pronounced deceased at the scene. Eduard Kondratiev, 46 yrs from Etobicoke, Ontario was operating the tractor trailer and did not suffer any physical injuries.

Highway #11 was closed until 5:00AM on March 5th, 2011.

The accident is currently under investigation with the assistance from the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit from the OPP. It is expected Highway 11 will be down to one lane of traffic for most of the morning to remove the tractor trailer.
