Police have identified and arrested a man who has been brandishing a Taser (Conducted Energy Weapon, CEW) in locations around North Bay.

There have been three separate complaints of a man showing the weapon.

An August 5th incident involved the man being asked to leave a city bus.

"As he left, he brandished a black handheld CEW and caused it to arc, meaning to make electrical current spark," says spokesman John Schultz.

An August 13th incident at a store on Josephine Street involved a man being asked to leave the premises as part of a clothing requirement. He again showed a black handheld CEW and caused it to arc several times as he left the property.

Then on August 14, a man had a conversation with an employee at a Worthington Street store and when asked to leave showed the employee the CEW while causing it to arc.

Following this last incident, an officer of the North Bay Police Service located the man and he was arrested. The CEW was seized as part of the arrest along with a small amount of suspected Xanax, a Schedule 3 substance under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

There were no physical injuries in any of the incidents.

Noah Saville, 19, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Three counts of possession of a prohibited device
  • Possession of a Schedule 3 substance.

Saville has been released from custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse on October 20 to answer to the charges.
