Targeted attack puts man in hospital

City police say a "targeted attack" on a man on Third Ave. yesterday morning resulted in injuries severe enough to require medical care.

Shortly before 6 a.m. police responded to a house on Sixth Ave. after a man knocked on the door asking for help. He had injuries that required medical care and he was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed the man’s injuries were the result of an assault with a weapon at a house on Third Ave. Sources say the man was stabbed.

The North Bay Forensic Identification Unit is assisting the Criminal Investigation Section in this continuing investigation.

Police say because this was a targeted attack there is no threat to public safety.
