The Discovery Routes Trail Organization invites the community to participate in the Healthy Numbers Fun Rally and the Trans Canada Trail Pavilion Plaque Unveiling on Saturday, June 24.

Cyclists and roller bladers will roll at 9 am from the Trans Canada Trail Pavilion on Memorial Drive to Callander and back.

Mayor Vic Fedeli, MP Anthony Rota and DRTO Chair Mark King will unveil the plaque during the “Political Plodders Parade” along the Kinsmen Trail starting at 9:45 at the trail beside the Davedi Club on Airport Road.

A Bike Safety Clinic and Bike Check-up and Repair Clinic will also be hosted.

Discovery Routes Trail Organization is inviting the community out to their Trails Rally and Trans Canada Trail Pavilion Plaque Unveiling on Saturday, June 24.

“We’re very excited to celebrate our local trails and everyone who has donated to the Trans Canada Trail,” said Jennifer McCourt, Trail Development Supervisor. “The Discovery Routes Trails extend across the district and we are encouraging the community to participate on Saturday, June 24 to find out how much fun they can have on the trails.”

Join Mayor Vic Fedeli, MP Anthony Rota and DRTO Chair Mark King as they participate in the “Political Plodders Parade” along the Kinsmen Trail starting at 9:45 beside the Davedi Club on Airport Road.

Cyclists and roller bladers can join the “Healthy Numbers Fun Rally” starting at 9 am from the Trans Canada Trail Pavilion on Memorial Drive to Callander and back. At noon, a ceremony unveiling the latest Trans Canada Trail donor plaque will be held. Participants in the Political Plodders Parade and the Healthy Numbers Fun Rally will have a chance to win a prize!
From 9 to 12, Cheapskates will also be holding a Bike Safety Clinic while North Riders will have a Bike Check-up and Repair Clinic.

The Take Heart Project is one of the key partners in this event. “We are very pleased to be able to provide residents with another opportunity to be active on our beautiful trail system,” said Michelle Cundari, Community Health Promoter with the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. “The trails are a great asset to the community and make it easier to be more active.”
