Tailgate thieves caught in Mattawa

MATTAWA - On July 1, 2011, a Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a suspicious vehicle while on patrol in the town of Mattawa.

A traffic stop was initiated and as a result, 7 tailgates
of pick up trucks were located in the box of the vehicle. Investigation resulted in Yves F. SAVAGE, 23, of Bonfield and Mathieu TREMBLAY, 20, of Mattawa being charged each with seven (7) counts of Theft under $5,000 as per section 334 (b) of the Criminal Code.

Both SAVAGE and TREMBLAY were held for bail hearing on Monday, July 4, 2011 in North Bay.
