City police have scheduled a news conference today at 2 p.m. after a suspicious discovery in the marsh area located off Hwy 11 South, north of the Lakeshore Drive turn-off.
Police say over the weekend, biology students from a university outside of North Bay were conducting research in the marsh.
While in the water, the students discovered a shoe that looked suspicious and they reported this to North Bay Police.
Police investigated and have asked for assistance from the Coroner's office.
The investigation is ongoing.
