Suspect named in 'underwear' convenience store robbery

The charges stem from the store robbery that occurred in the early morning hours of May 23

North Bay Police have named a suspect in that Cassells St. convenience store robbery yesterday. 

At 3:55 a.m. a lone man entered the store and told the clerk he had a weapon in his pocket and demanded money. 

The clerk gave him a small amount of cash and the thief fled the scene on foot.

Arrested on Main St. yesterday was Courage Waukeychisel, 22, from North Bay.

Waukeychisel is charged with;

  • Robbery;
  • Disguise with Intent; and
  • Breach of Probation

Waukeychisel remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.

Witnesses yesterday said three police cars converged at the intersection of Main and Fraser around 10 a.m. where an arrest of a male wearing a black backpack took place.  

Police confirmed via Twitter, that they had arrested a man related to a morning robbery.

The North Bay Police Service is expressing gratitude to members of the public and the media for their help with the investigation.
